Trajah Buxton

Real Estate · Distressed Debt · Institutional Strategy

Trajah Buxton is a real estate and distressed-debt executive with more than 15 years of experience in institutional valuation, nonperforming-loan due diligence, real estate development, and asset management.

As a Manager at Deloitte, Trajah advised more than 50 valuation clients and led teams across multiple countries. He later served as Head of Due Diligence at Automation Finance, where he evaluated complex loans, collateral, title matters, and distressed assets. In a separate Managing Director role, he oversaw a $500 million real estate portfolio. He also launched a furnished-apartment business in just three months by turning vacant inventory into income-producing units.

Following the 2023 regional banking failures, Trajah was recruited by the FDIC based on his experience in valuation and distressed assets. Although circumstances prevented him from accepting the opportunity, the recruitment reflected the strength of his expertise and professional judgment.

Today, Trajah leads Nova Strategy Partners and is developing the Foreclosure Intelligence Directory. This national resource is designed to make foreclosure opportunities, experienced legal counsel, and important market intelligence easier to find.

Trajah’s work also includes community and economic impact. At Open Doors, he created MoneyWise, secured partnerships with three financial institutions, and helped develop programming that contributed to a $250,000 grant from the Citi Foundation. Participants who completed the one-year program could receive five times the amount they contributed through matching funds, without placing their savings at investment risk.

Like many pilot programs, MoneyWise identified areas for improvement. It also demonstrated a practical model that could be replicated in low- and moderate-income communities across the country.
